Michael has an extensive background in the mobility, embedded software, and IoT markets, and has led business development, and sales and marketing activities in these spaces for the last 20 years at brand name and startup companies. Before joining Wireless 20/20, Michael was the Vice President of Sales and Partners for SIGFOX North America, responsible for sales across key verticals including shipping and logistics, agriculture, smart spaces, and industry/energy. Michael led mobility and IoT sales for Fortune 100 clients with the Communications, Media, and Technology sector at Accenture before joining Sigfox.
Prior to that, Michael was SVP of Sales for Smarterphone AS, a leader in providing smartphone capabilities for low cost phones for developing markets, where he was responsible for global business development leading to a successful acquisition by Nokia in 2011. Earlier in his career, Michael was at QUALCOMM where he was responsible for global business development which was instrumental in QUALCOMM becoming a leader in the global mobile phone silicon market. In the quest to seed the world with QUALCOMM technology, Michael was also responsible for launch and operations of a CDMA network in Ukraine. Michael began his career in the defense industry and joined the telecom industry through pioneering development of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), first applied by QUALCOMM and Cox Communications in the Southern California market. Michael holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering.
